Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. You are always so encouraging. I think I will wear the Sketchers to the wedding as I will have on long flowy pants and they won't show much anyway.juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12423393733607579888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-394401558736774976.post-51808826161829144322009-07-28T13:40:27.644-07:002009-07-28T13:40:27.644-07:00I'll have to say, I was excited about the mach...I'll have to say, I was excited about the machines, but when I opened those drawers and saw all those treasures I was triply excited.Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10097054119585201394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-394401558736774976.post-43279124629643677822009-07-09T17:33:15.403-07:002009-07-09T17:33:15.403-07:00Chin up SIL, I think you are doing an amazing job ...Chin up SIL, I think you are doing an amazing job for a novice. Gardens are like babies... they need love and close attention in the beginning. But once they take to their feet, they are on their own. Just feed them (water and sun) and the rest they will do on their own.

So far, the garden is progressing and I think that this year you may be able to take a shot and place it on your blog - a bowl of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers. Then you can make a salad...

The mint for the mojitos... that was a genious idea... LOVE IT. Let's do it again... Anyone know how to grow Tequila plants!?!?!?! He goes way overboard and plants enough squash, green beans, etc..... for a village. We do our best to keep everything picked and put up. I do not can things, but I will put things in the freezer. This year he got everything planted, but since he's had knee replacement surgery he can't do any more. That's ok, we have only a small garden this year compared to what we've had in the past.
My DH grew up on a farm so he knows all about gardening. I grew up in town and know almost nothing.
My Grandparents-in-law planted all kinds of flowering things around this house which we bought after they passed away. I love the flowers but would have put them in different spots. I've dug up lots, but I'm not too wild about working out in the heat to do much more. I'd rather be inside sewing in the air conditioning.Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10097054119585201394noreply@blogger.com
